Beta Change Log
3.0.0-120
New (Pay-for): Snapshots. If you accidentally remove or change a rule, you can easily undo the change by loading a snapshot of the previous rule set and recovering whatever you need to. Snapshots are created any time a rule is modified, added, or removed. Up to 15 snapshots will be stored, but you can also choose to keep some permanently—those won't count towards the storage limit. New (Pay-for): Quick Add: add a rule just by clicking on an item once. Successive clicks while in simple mode will select parts of the host. A press-and-hold will trigger the standard UI. Quick Add can be enabled under the User Interface settings. New: A setting has been added to disallow automatic rule creation when Private Browsing mode is enabled. This is now the default action when expert features are enabled and has no effect if they aren't since automatic rules do not exist in simple mode.New: Like in expert mode, simple mode has gained the ability to detect if a rule exist and, if it does, prompts you to delete it or create a new one. This avoids cluttering the rule list with similar rules that do the opposite of each other. New: The rule list will now always have a bubble indicating the type of rule, even when expert features are enabled. New: A new actions toolbar has been added to the rule list to replace the text that appeared on top of the filter bar. New: Whitelist and blacklist rules are now distinguishable in the simplified rule list. They have a black dot in the center of their bubble. Changed: Simplified rules are now enforced for new installs and cannot be disabled. Regular expression rules can still be created in simple mode from the rule list by starting the rule with a "^". Changed: Code optimizations. Changed: Removed incomplete Twilight theme. Fix: Resolves an issue where changing just one portion of a combined simplified rule would change the entire thing. Fix: Lots of fixes regarding automatic rules and expert features. Fix: A warning has been added to let users know that JS Blocker cannot function when its toolbar icon is hidden. |
2.8.0-116
A completely new UI has been added that lists rules in plain English without the complexity of regular expressions. This UI uses a new rule set so existing rules will not work. The conversion function has yet to be implemented at this stage. You can enable this UI from the settings page, with expert features disabled, by checking "Use simplified rules". You must also reinstall the whitelist and blacklist manually if you want those rules. They will still appear in the rule list as regular expressions due to their complexity in general. |
2.7.0-111
A new interface has been added to select multiple items to be allowed or blocked. Accessed via the new "Block/Allow or Hide…" button and selecting "Some". Items in the main window can now be hidden. To show them, select "Toggle Hidden" at the bottom, or delete the rule in the rule list. They appear as "Hide-* Rules". |
2.6.3-101
A new experimental feature to confirm navigation to short URLs has been added. I ask that you please enable this feature from the Settings page and play around with it. It will be under "Other Features". Report any latency issues you notice, bugs, redirects not working correctly, etc. |
2.6.0-93 (RC1)
Brought back the "Page:" label and rearranged the frame navigator. Added ability to use a custom font for webpages. When picking the setting for a custom zoom or font for webpages, there is now an "Other" option which will prompt the user for their own value. New animations for the settings page is prettier and quicker. |
2.6.0-92
Lots of UI changes so I decided to bump up the minor version to 6. New navigation for frames makes it easier to see if a webpage has inline frames without having to click on the select box. Since the "Page:" label is gone, one must now navigate to the rules window and double click the header displaying the number of domains and rules to get back previous functionality. A title attribute has been added to the page select box. Few UI tweaks to fix some offsetting issues with the main window. Setup window has been removed from the popover in favor of the new settings UI. Upon installation, the settings page will automatically open. |
2.5.1-89
A new two-column layout makes it even easier to see what's been allowed or blocked at a glance. Allow/Block buttons are gone and are replaced with simply clicking on the host/URL. A "?" to the left of items preserves the previous functionality. The number of items per host is now floated to the right of the host, always appearing in a fixed position. The video blocker is now its own thing and not mangled up with embeds and objects. If you hate this new two-column layout, please let me know! |
